About PomodoTree
Built with 🌳 for focused humans everywhere
What is PomodoTree?
PomodoTree is a free, open-to-use Pomodoro timer that works entirely inside your web browser. There is no app to install, no account to create, and no subscription to pay. Open it, start the timer, and focus.
The tool is built around the Pomodoro Technique — a time-management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s that uses 25-minute focused work intervals followed by short breaks. Decades of research on sustained attention and cognitive fatigue support this kind of structured work rhythm.
Who is PomodoTree for?
PomodoTree is designed for anyone who wants to get more done while protecting their mental energy. Our users include:
- Students studying for exams or writing papers who need to stay on task without burning out
- Software developers and designers who work in deep-focus blocks and want to track their sessions
- Remote workers who miss the natural rhythm of an office environment and need an external structure
- Writers and creators battling blank-page paralysis who need a low-stakes way to start
- People with ADHD who benefit from time-boxing and the predictability of a clear countdown
- Anyone who procrastinates and wants a gentle, effective nudge to begin
What can PomodoTree do?
- Customisable focus, short-break, and long-break timer durations
- Task tracking with per-session Pomodoro counts
- Four ambient soundscapes — Rain, Forest, Café, and White Noise — generated entirely in-browser via the Web Audio API
- Weekly analytics chart and session streaks
- 12 achievement badges to reward consistent practice
- Browser notifications when a session ends
- Keyboard shortcuts for power users
- Dark and light themes
- Full interface available in 25 languages
- Zero data sent to any server — everything is stored locally in your browser
Why is the web app free?
PomodoTree's web application is 100% free to use because the Pomodoro Technique should be accessible to everyone — not locked behind a $12/month subscription. There is no sign-up required, no premium upsell on the web app, and no paywall of any kind.
To keep the web app free and the servers running, we display non-intrusive advertisements via Google AdSense and use Google Analytics to understand how people use the tool. Your timer data, tasks, and settings are never sent to any server — they stay in your browser.
Privacy
PomodoTree stores your tasks, settings, session history, and badge progress entirely in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
The web application uses Google Analytics for traffic insights and Google AdSense for advertising. The browser extension contains zero analytics, zero tracking, and zero ads — your data stays completely local.
See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
Browser Extension
PomodoTree is also available as a browser extension for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. The extension expands on the web app with additional features including Pomodoro timer with forest growth, site blocker, YouTube productivity tools, drawing board, note-taking, web activity tracker, and support for 50 languages.
The extension offers both a free plan (core Pomodoro timer, forest growth, basic site blocking, and task management) and a Premium plan ($7.99/month or $72/year) that unlocks the full feature set. The extension contains no ads and no tracking — in either plan.

Auto Scroll & PiP Extension
We also built Auto Scroll — a separate Chrome extension that automatically scrolls through YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels. It includes Picture-in-Picture mode with auto-advance, video speed control, anti-doomscrolling break reminders, and per-platform usage statistics.
